                                                                 INFORMATION SYSTEMS                                                            


    Support the setup, operation, and maintenance of company information and communication systems under the direction of the Network Manager. 



    1. Maintain vessel PC and communications systems to ensure maximum reliability and uptime. Ability to travel by any mode to company facilities and towboats will be required.
    2. Review new software releases and provide user training.
    3. Provide user software support to vessel personnel (Lydia, Maintenance, MS Office).
    4. Troubleshoot and resolve Help Desk issues as assigned.
    5. Set up new desktop systems as required, both onboard and in company offices.
    6. Knowledge of Active Directory and VBScript preferred
    7. Perform network telephone system administration.
    8. Maintain operational status of CBC hardware and software.
    9. Ensure an accurate hardware inventory at all locations (toner, batteries, spare parts).
    10. Assist in testing applications before installation and in distributing new releases.
    11. Answer the Help Desk line and route request accordingly.
    12. Ensure that customer relations are maintained at a level which will enable the company to attain its goals and objectives.
    13. Learn company information and communications systems to be able to provide assistance w/questions or perform duties upon request.
    14. Maintain Help Desk database of outstanding issues per department guidelines.
    15. Maintain documentation for Standards and Guidelines of I.S. Procedures.
    16. Serve on the Switchboard Relief Team.
    17. Maintain conduct in accordance with the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Philosophy.
    18. Perform other duties as requested by immediate supervisor and department or group manager.


    1. Education Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or similar desired
    2. Minimum 5+ years of experience on hardware & software systems used by the company.
    3. Experience in supporting Telecommunications Systems.
    4. Must be able to travel to and traverse company towboats and barges.
    5. Must be able to lift 25-40 pounds.
    6. Reliable automobile transportation is required for travel to and from company vessels and offices (all business-related travel expenses are reimbursed, including mileage).
    7. Ability to travel overnight as required.
