    I.          BASIC FUNCTION

    Night Dispatcher to support Transportation Services. Provide after business hours services to provide efficient use of the company's equipment. Maximize customer service to allow for the achievement of company goals under the direction of the General Manager of Transportation Services. 



    1. Learn CBC systems to ensure flawless communications with customers, vendors, and fellow CBC employees.
      1. Answer incoming telephone calls and ensure they are forwarded or received by the appropriate party when further assistance is required.
      2. Enter TRAK events timely and accurately relating to movement of boats/barges, including loading and unloading of barges.
      3. Maintain an accurate log of all incoming calls.
      4. Provide a documented turnover report from night operations to the New Orleans Dispatcher.
      5. Assist with incident management and all required communications.
    2. Learn CBC barge services (customer commitments and requirements) and execute logistics plans under the direction of the General Manager of Transportation Services and the Manager of Field Operations (Sulphur).
      1. Understand inland marine logistics (mile points of ports/fleets, etc.)
      2. Coordinate with dock spotting orders
      3. Coordinate/communicate tankering services according to requirements
      4. Facilitate barge cleaning according to requirements
      5. Develop working relationship with CBC boats and field employees, towing and tankerman service vendors, docks and fleets to ensure the timely and proper movement of equipment
    3. Learn other Transportation Systems Department duties.
      1. Ensure timely and accurate updating of TRAK system.
    4. Work under the General Manager of Transportation Services to achieve the internal standards of professionalism, efficiency and flexibility.
      1. Work as a team to continually improve the overall abilities of the Transportation Services department.



    The Night Dispatcher must be disciplined and a self-starter who can work without direct supervision on a daily basis. Excellent communication skills, maturity, and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment are required. Proficiency in computer skills, including email, and experience working with databases and internet applications are required. Previous marine industry experience preferred.  Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
