  • Job Description


    Provide administrative and clerical support to the Senior Port Engineer and boat maintenance team.



    1. Assist Port Engineer/ administrator in developing vessel yearly/5yr outage plans (out of service plans) as determined by USCG Sub M requirements, TSMS requirements, maintenance requirements of major vessel machinery, and any known required audits, surveys or maintenance requirements.
    2. In conjunction with port engineer/ administrator, help develop boat maintenance schedules and then publish this schedule for the CBC boat fleet to the boat maintenance team (port engineer staff) and distribute as needed to other internal CBC customers.
    3. Using CBC computerized maintenance system, track and maintain required regulatory body inspections schedule for CBC vessels.
    4. Distribute on-board required USCG (COI’s) documents to our inspected vessels.
    5. Using CBC computerized maintenance system, track underwater spares and maintain file of repair status and location of repaired underwater spares.
    6. Using CBC computerized maintenance system, track fire extinguisher service for vessels and arrange for fire extinguisher service as needed on our vessels.
    7. Maintain all equipment maintenance files. File shipyard related invoices.
    8. Track training for onboard engineers and trainee engineers. Determine which engineers or engineer trainees need training, what training they need and then assign training to those engineers.  Follow up by booking engineers training assignments and record the training.
    9. Assist with the document control of boat drawings, and assist with the filing of drawings.
    10. Arrange and set up boat maintenance meetings as needed.
    11. Expedite technical information to customers upon request.
    12. Process information and statistics to generate management reports.




    1. Able to work in Excel, Word, Powerpoint
    2. Familiar with or able to learn CBC computerized maintenance system (SINEX)
    3. Good typing skills (60 wpm.)
    4. 3-5 years related experience
    5. Minimum high school education
    6. Good communication skills
